Thursday, May 27, 2010: Naschmarkt - Snack Market

Thursday, May 27, 2010 (Karannina): Today we took the U ban to the Naschmarkt. We saw a lot of Turkish food and - surprisingly - clothing. Scarves, sunglasses, pashminas (big scarves), stuffed figs and dates, dried fruit; figs, dates, pineapple, honey apples, mangoes, pomelo peel pieces (green), flat bread, sea food; crabs, flying fish, flounder, squid, octopus, perch, and other fish, lots of cold dips/sauces, cheeses and wasabi covered peanuts. There were many different kinds of restaurants in the Naschmarkt too. We bought dried figs, dates pomelo peel pieces, honey apples, tzatziki sauce, flat bread, Moroccan olives, salty cream cheese stuffed figs with cranberries, cheese wrapped up in a grape leaf, cinnamon sticks and Alexander bought teriyaki chicken from a Japanese restaurant. We ate most of our bought items for lunch. Since there were no tables to eat on, we sat on the curb. I enjoyed people watching while we ate. We took the U ban home, Alexander and I chewing on our cinnamon sticks. Once we were home, we packed for Neuschwanstein.

It's raining! It's pouring! The old man is snoring...
Colourful food!
Eating on the curb and people watching.

Alexander, what are you doing?!
