Friday, May 28, 2010: Linderhof Palace

Friday, May 28, 2010 (Karannina): An entire day of travel on the Autobahn. The pictures will describe our travel better than my words. Today we also went to the Linderhof - a palace - which was very fantastical and busy. Ludwig II owned this castle. He had a plaster cave made for him - very interesting - nearby his Linderhof. He really devoted himself to Wagner's - a famous composer in those days- music and his operas(, even though the government thought Wagner was a crazy man and took Wagner out of Germany). We weren't allowed to take pictures of the inside of the castle :( The interior of the palace was gold-leafed and painted with pictures of the French Aristocats - Ludwig II really admired them - and many vases from vast countries - Ludwig loved collecting vases.

A very interesting 'French' word for a bathroom. Why, you ask, is there a French word on a sign in Germany, I don't know.
