Sunday, June 6, 2010: Last Country - Scotland

Sunday, June 6, 2010 (Dieter): We said our goodbye to the Nonn's at the Frankfurt-Hahn airport :( We really appreciate and value the relationships we made with them. It took two vehicles to get all our luggage to get us to the airport. Thanks to Oliver and Onkel, we made our flight. Got a new rental car in Edinburgh and with team effort and encouraging efforts from my passengers (our family), we made it safely driving on the other side of the road. Wonderful to see Stew and Jan McIntosh - we taught together at Providence and they held our little Alexander shortly after his birth. Totally amazed at their hospitality - they have given up their home and their beds. I felt awful as I hooked onto one of their antique wall clocks (built early 1800) and it came crashing to the ground. But that was forgiven. Spent the evening running along the beach with Karannina and Alexander, seeing deer, mink, rabbits, great herons. Of course beach combing was the highlight of our children.

New car, daddy has to drive on the left side of the road instead of the right.

Town of Kingshorn, Fife Scotland, our new home.

Late evening hike by the ocean coast (east side of Scotland facing Norway). Bright out until 10:30pm.
