Wednesday, February 24, 2010: Generous Hospitality Totally Enjoyed

Wednesdaz, February 24, 2010: (Dieter and Sandra). Day of organizing all of our stuff (laundry, souvenirs) while Dieter packs for his trip. He gets this crazy homework assignment for K and A. The children have to find their favorite Playmobil sets, identify the model number, find the lowest price from a Canadian website, divide the price in 1/2 and change the value to Euro's. Then they take that value after he checks to make sure we did the numbers right, to Onkel Klaus. Onkel Klaus spends time with our children to find Playmobil on the German eBay - wow, there are some great deals. Alexander wants a Pyramid set with accessories and Karannina wants a Pony set with accessories. Sandra joins Tante Karin in a multi-church women's meeting, preparing for a day of prayer for the people of Cameroon, Africa. Dieter lost about 5 kgs after Sandra cuts his hair and his BIG beard. He no longer has such a big head. I am sure he will gain it all back again after eating Tante Karin's delicious food :) She baked a 'cathedral' kucken, as seen in the photo. A home base is unbelievably important when traveling. This is worth more than gold. It provides stability. Family relationships are strengthened. The wonderfully prepared meals such as the delicious schnitzel and veggies (kohlarabi) we enjoyed today helps also. Thank you Tante Karin and Onkel Klaus for your generous hospitality!
