Tuesday, June 1st, 2010: Strawberry Fields Forever, Over the Hedge

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 (Alexander): For breakfast we have Tantelade (Tante Karin's from homemade jams) with butter on a Brötchen (a bun). We help Onkel Klaus and Daddy trim the big wacko Hedge.

We sweep, rake, fill bags, and fool around (when we're not needed). This is lots of fun!!! After hard work we have a delicious lunch - made by Tante Karin - outside on the veranda under the shade. She looks like an astronaut ready for space.

Then we have a wonderful snack of freshly cut strawberries, meringue keks (cookies), whip cream, and dark chocolate (it eventually melted so we had to finish it). Afterwords we finish our big-wacko-(Over the)Hedge work. We choose the rocks and shells(that we've collected so far) that are the best of the best. We could only bring along 2 kilos of shells and hard rocks. We managed to choose 4 1/2 kilos of rocks (counting the 1 1/2 kilos of shells). I carved a recorder (like a flute) out of the sticks of the Hedge that were cut. I haven't managed to make a sound on it yet. (I wonder if Onkel Klaus can help me...) Supper (9:00pm/21:00) was delicious leftovers from lunch. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz .
