Hard to believe that our Italy portion of the trip is almost finished. Woke to calmer sea, but had a wild hail storm while the children were playing in the playground - no damage. Right after breakfast, the children spend time trying to out run the waves, shrieking and jumping as the waves still crashed in over the barrier into the harbour. We did our last breakfast of hot frothy chocolate and danish pastries. Then off to Monterossa, actually just to the first lookout. We enjoy the short hike, saw the first signs of spring with the flowers peaking through the trail grass and then had to turn back because of the rain. Next we headed back to our apartment, began our final packing and then watched the final festivities of Carnival unfolding below our penthouse as children from the village gathered to smash a Piñata. A beautiful sunset with a bit of a thunderstorm and then lights out.
